About
As Richard Bach has rightly said, "There's so much to learn! And just when we think, "I've got it. I really understand what’s going on, "We're shown a whole new stage set on which to play." That's what brought me to the data field. I was happily working as a web developer at Accenture, India for 4.5 years and one day when I was working on Google analytics for an e-commerce project, it hit me. Where is the data coming from? What all can we accomplish from it? What possible information can we derive from it? How is Amazon working? There is so much that I don't know. And that's when my learning process began. I had to know more. I am now a graduate student at UConn School of Business, pursuing Business Analytics and Project Management. I am passionate about data and through my academic projects, I am working on developing my analytical skills and finding all the answers to Whys and Hows. I have worked on a few projects - 1. Developed a centralized database system for the blood donation process using SQL (Joins, sets and aggregate functions) and business process modelling techniques such as As is, To Be and Swim lane diagrams. 2. Developed a property investment model which predicts market value of the properties to give an idea to the potential investors and owners about the property's ROI using predictive modelling concepts based on SEMMA. Me and my team worked on data sampling, preprocessing, used various models such as Linear regression, Neural network, etc. to find out the best R-squared and RMSE values. (Linear won!) I have keen interest in volunteering and leadership roles. I am Vice President of Operations at UCONN's Net Impact Chapter where I manage other VPs. and I am a secretary at UConn's Toastmasters club where I closely work with the president to organize events and maintain the club records. In the past, I successfully led "Rewards & Recognition program" globally at Accenture. I have also volunteered at several events organized at UConn and outside. In my previous experience, as a web developer, I polished my technical skills such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript which I am leveraging in my part time job at UConn's Center for Advancement of Business Analytics. I am a self-learner as well; I have had opportunities where I had to learn server-side programming language such as .net to fulfill the requirements of a project. Outside my studies, I love making new connections. Feel free to reach out to me for networking, career guidance or if it is just to be friends.
